Fenty Beauty hit our shores two weeks ago, and the launch was insane. That being said, two weeks is enough time for reviews to go up and hype to build – right? Fenty has scored tons of positive reviews, with many praising the wide variety of skin tone foundations available for all types of skin type and colour. I’m sure some of you have already spent your hard earned cash on some of these products to experience this revolution (seriously, other brands are following in Fenty’s footsteps with the skin tone variety). I know I did. RiRi knows exactly what she’s doing. #slay
Below, I’ll tell you what I’ve spent money on (with a mini review) and what I think you should pick up:
Ignore the long name: this foundation is legit. Packaged in a sturdy glass bottle, this foundation comes in an industry-shaking 40 shades. Whether it’s shade selection or undertones, everyone can find a shade. Aside from that, the finish is absolutely beautiful – the oil-free formula doesn’t cling to dry patches, the soft matte finish leaves you looking luminous (good for those of us who need to fake being well-rested) and it really is as longwear as they claim.
Do you remember those Crayola markers that attach to one another? Well, here’s the grown up version. Fenty Beauty takes the guesswork out of contouring by giving you three coordinating colors for contour, concealing and highlighting. Best part: it’s magnetic. No more fumbling for your makeup inside the depths of your handbag.
Side note: buy the singles if you like to mix and match on your own.
Everyone’s talking about Trophy Wife – the 24K gold glitter that gives everyone life. Personally, yellow gold has never worked with my complexion – so I picked up one of the duos (Girl Next Door/Chic Phreak). The powder-cream hybrid was a bit confusing to work with at first, but once I got the hang of it – someone call NASA because they’re going to mistake my highlighter for a new star.
Don’t get this confused with the papers in your smoke stash: this peachy-pink blotting paper promises to obliterate shine. The mirrored case is both chic and refillable, so hey – you’re well on your way to stealth touch ups,
Gloss is in because the ‘00s are coming back. A plumped up pout is a welcome relief for our parched lips after multiple seasons of matte liquid lipstick. With a delicious peach-vanilla scent and conditioning shea butter, you’re going to be absolutely edible. I have this, I love this and the universal nude-rose color has toppled my love of red lipstick (for now). Memo: gloss is not kiss-proof.
