General millennial thing: we love ‘brunch’ culture. The perfect meal: that in between time for breakfast and lunch, it’s the best way to spend your weekend. Here’s a list of ideal places to check off your list or maybe revisit to satisfy your cravings:
- Breakfast Thieves, Bangsar
The name says it all. They offer various types of brunch meals for you to choose from. Protip: just beside the restaurant is PULP by Papa Pathela – and that my friend, where the best coffee is at.
- Merchant’s Lane, Petaling Street
One of the most Instagrammable cafes in Kuala Lumpur. Even their tea (Rose Honey Milk) is so pretty, you wouldn’t want to drink it. Perfectly hidden along Petaling Street, this spot wins our heart for being in smack in the heart of KL. With the new MRT station located at Pasar Seni, there’s no hassle in getting there.
- Common Man Coffee Roasters, TTDI.
CMCR DOES HIGH TEA! Launching next week exclusively at CMCR KL, an anything but common High Tea! A set for two, with plenty of sweet and savoury treats, tea, coffee or free flow batch brew is yours for rm65++ Available Thursdays and Fridays only at 2.30pm. Reservations are a must and can be made by calling the cafe on +60377317095 #commonmancoffeeroasters #greatcoffeeincommon #commonforkl #cafehopmy #cafehopkl #eatdrinkkl #hightea #specialtycoffee #coffeekl
This Singapore-based cafe made its debut in TTDI about a year ago and has been helping regulars and new customers get pumped up before work. Their to-go cup has ‘Common for KL’ written on it, and it’s totally Instagrammable. Check out their famous croissants and the stellar lunch menu.
- Second Sunday, Damansara Jaya.
Got a sweet tooth? Then, you’ll definitely love Second Sunday. Most of their menu is pancake-based, so make sure you’re a fan. Best part? For those prices, you’re sure to come back.
- Fancy Breakfast Club, Bangsar.
Known for its minimalistic interior and sophisticated features – Fancy Breakfast Club elevates the brunch experience. Fancy? We certainly think so. This spot might not be ideal for a 2-person brunch date, but it’s a definite friends and family spot.
- The Red Beanbag, Publika.
Home to a few and as familiar as family to some, it’s been around for almost seven years already. People come back for its eggs, both baked and benedict; fluffy pancakes and French toasts. Located in Publika, a bit of shopping after brunch wouldn’t hurt.
- The Toast Co. Cafe @ Grocer’s Inn, Jalan Sultan KL.
A stone’s throw from Petaling Street, you’ll fall in love with the entrance’s design, a superb background for your #ootd(s). Well loved for its open-faced sandwiches and generous toppings, both savouries and desserts. You’ll just end up asking for more!
