Ahmad Abdul Rahman, or better known as Altimet, is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Malaysian hip hop industry. After much speculation surrounding his song, Mambang, Altimet came up with yet another record titled Air – an adventurous collection of genre-bending singles that may cement him as one of Malaysia’s hip hop greats.
Launched at Timbre @ The Row, Kuala Lumpur, the album features 6 new tracks, with collaborations with Baraka, Pekin Ibrahim, Faizal Hussein and Kidd Santhe. The inspiration behind the title of his album comes from one of Bruce Lee’s infamous quotes, which is to be shapeless and formless like water.
Mambang, which was released about a month before the launch of the album, sparked countless of controversies, with fans dissecting the lyrics and associating it with the feud between Malique and Altimet. The speculation surrounding the feud between the two continued to heighten with the release of Gong Nekara, a song by Kmy Kmo featuring Luca Sickta which is rumored to be a diss track towards Altimet on behalf of Malique.
Other notable tracks in the album include the single, Bunga, which features a uniquely different sound about the reality of society when it comes to debt.
