With maliQue’s right foot back into the picture, you’d never expect another rapper’s departure in this truly exciting time for Malaysian hip hop. In a surprising turn of events, Altimet had other plans as he announced his retirement on Twitter earlier today.

The bomb was dropped in the middle of an unchained thread where Altimet was educating his followers on how the industry works and despite its nature, he stayed true to his principles and made it through.

However, he assured fans that he won’t be leaving without a final hurrah by announcing that he will be dropping two albums scheduled to be released this year and next year. The albums are titled ‘Air’ and ‘O’ – and Altimet claims that ‘Air’ has already been completed.

The former Teh Tarik Crew member also hinted that he will close his chapter with a farewell concert, other than the albums that he promised.

If 2018 is truly the end of Altimet’s colorful career, then it will be a sad year for Malaysian hip hop. Nevertheless, fans have enjoyed years of good hip hop tracks and memories coming from the rapper. The Level MY wishes Altimet all the best in his future endeavors, and would welcome his return (if possible) with open arms.
