Sheffield indie rock band, Arctic Monkeys has come a long way since the release of their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Ever since then, the band has skyrocketed to fame, with singles like Mardy Bum and Fluorescent Adolescent. But their greasy, leather jacket days maybe over to make way for the sophisticated turtleneck jacket-look of the 80s. Whether you’re a pre-AM or post-AM fan, you have to admit: the thought of another Arctic Monkey album is exciting.
After much anticipation, Arctic Monkeys announced their sixth album with glitz and glam, entitled Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, 5 years after AM was released. Fans of Arctic Monkeys have been anticipating the release of a new album ever since frontman Alex Turner was photographed reunited with his band mates in December 2016. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is produced by frontman Alex Turner and James Ford. Recorded in Los Angeles, Paris and London, the album features 11 new tracks that will be available in multiple different formats. The tracklisting has also been unveiled, including songs called She Looks Like Fun, Golden Trunks, Batphone and American Sports.
Half a decade since the release of AM, Arctic Monkeys will be back on the road with spanking new material, mostly in America and Europe. They’ll be embarking on their North American summer tour next month with Los Angeles’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery as their first stop.
