KotakCon 2016

By Jeremy Say KotakCon has come a long way from last year and their first steps into creating a festival by hobbyists for hobbyists. From holding the event at All Aboard Community Gaming Center to moving into one of Malaysia’s most popular malls in  Publika is a giant step up for an event some people might merely dismiss as niche. With many local vendors and talented people at the event, it was no wonder the turnout on the first day was amazing. The main sponsors KDU University College (Game Development), All Aboard CGC and in turn Boardgamecafe.net all deserve...

KDU Jazzessions 2016 – Review

KDU University College held their Jazzsessions this month, an event run by the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts. Joe Hasham’s Shakespeare’s Women puts feminism in a positive light

by Anna Kong  “Almost all of the strong, prominent roles in Shakespeare are men. And that makes Shakespeare a bit of a sexist,” said Joe Hasham, the Director of Shakespeare’s Women that premiered until 29th May yesterday. Shakespeare’s Women featured an array of Shakespeare’s female characters, played by an all-female cast. Joe gave freedom to the girls to pick the monologues and scenes themselves – whichever resonated with them – and worked the creative process from there. It’s all in the act to prove just how much we have progressed since then – where all the stage actors were...
