In a classic case of “Malaysia Boleh!”, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort will be Earth’s first LEGOLAND park to initiate blast off with the LEGO virtual reality rollercoaster in November 2017, subsequently followed by LEGOLAND Florida Resort and LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort in 2018.
The ride, which will feature a diverse lineup of racers from the famous LEGO Minifigure mystery assortments, was developed under Merlin Magic Making’s supervision, combining the latest virtual reality tech with roller coaster thrills. Additionally, “The Great LEGO Race will transform three existing “Project X” roller coasters into an exciting, high-octane experience for kids and parents alike.” Using the VR headsets, visitors will be exposed dynamic, unique ride in a man-made environment that is 100% made of LEGO bricks.
Some highlights of the attraction:
– Entry portal enveloped in the sounds of roaring engines.
– The coaster’s queue will resemble a pre-race space where pit crews for each of the five LEGO racers (Trendsetter, Pharaoh, Surfer Girl, Wizard and Pirate Captain) prepare for the competition, including interactive and hands-on elements to entertain riders in the queue.
– During the ride, Bluetooth technology will sync the virtual visuals with the roller coaster’s twists, turns, drops and climbs.
The Great LEGO Race can be ridden with or without the VR headset, and is suitable for children ages 6 and up. For more information, visit LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s official website www.legoland.com.my and stay connected with the resort via social media (Facebook & Twitter) to find out more.
