Apple unveiled iPhone 7 last week, and the world over has been obsessed with how Apple decided to “bravely” remove the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, the resulting media shitstorm and memes overshadowed the mind-boggling advancements made to the iPhone 7 Plus’ camera system.

I’ll spare you the pain of going over the changes here (you can easily look it up, anyways), but while the list of advancements rattled off at the keynote may have seemed insignificant to the average joe, I found it telling that professional photographers on my social media were collectively freaking out over what Apple had done to the camera.

Why does any of that matter? Well, the iPhone 7 Plus recently made its way into the hands of photographers David E. Klutho and Landon Nordeman from Sports Illustrated and ESPN respectively – a week ahead of its intended release date this coming Friday.

This wouldn’t have happened without blessings from Cupertino and the two photographers given early access are obviously professionals, but the results were…nothing short of spectacular.

It’s still blowing my mind that a camera attached to your phone/pocket-supercomputer can produce such stunning images. I mean, look at that.

These pictures are far better than anything I’ve ever seen come out of a smartphone’s camera.

So, I’ll leave you to drool over more pictures in the gallery below. In the meantime, I’ll be looking up how to sell one of my kidneys so I can get me an iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black. Plus, we really only need one kidney to stay alive anyways.
