HBO Asia is bringing Westeros to Kuala Lumpur – although somewhat disappointingly (for some of us) minus the bloodshed, dragons, warlords, and nudity.

Thanks to the sweet people at HBO Asia, Malaysians will finally get an up close and personal look this weekend at the symbol of control over the seven kingdoms, the Iron Throne.

In HBO’s hit Game of Thrones series, the Iron Throne was forged at the order of Aegon the Conqueror, the first of the Targaryen Kings, who conquered six of the seven independent kingdoms of Westeros and unified them under his rule. The seventh and final kingdom of Dorne however, was later joined through a marriage alliance. The throne was allegedly forged from the 1,000 swords that had been surrendered to Aegon in the War of Conquest by the lords who had offered their fealty, though the actual number of the swords is less than two hundred. These were subsequently melted down by the fiery breath of Aegon’s dragon, Balerion the Black Dread, then beaten and bent into a throne of imposing appearance. Balerion the Black Dread once again emerged as champion.

Some lucky fans will actually get the chance to sit on Iron Throne. It’s also been reported that each visitor to the Iron Throne will get free official Game of Thrones goodies.
