Iskandar Malaysia is one of the fastest growing cities in Malaysia, and with it comes a young population brimming with ideas and creativity. The IP Kreatif Festival, a two day free-to-public event set to be held this 22nd-23rd July in Iskandar, Johor featuring music performances, workshops, art exhibitions and more, is where these young talents will converge to show the rest of the Malaysia that Johor will more than ready to luaskan kuasa to the rest of the Peninsula, and beyond.

Brought to you by developers UEM Sunrise and boasting creative talks and workshops, start-up and tech discussions, brainstorming sessions, interactive installations, music performances, multiple visual art exhibitions, and a bazaar featuring both food and handmade crafts, IP Kreatif sounds like the festival all of us up in KL have been craving for. A common space where tech, craft, and music intersect, IP Festival promises to be an experience for learning as much as it is an experience to enjoy.

Among the workshops to look forward to is Minut Init’s Creative Urbans workshop, which of course will be accompanied by a bazaar selling all your craft needs and wants. The Damansara Uptown-based arts centre has become an epicentre for all kinds of performance art and more, and we’re sure they’ll be plenty to love about their workshop for all of you looking to get into expressing yourselves.

And surely we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the various exhibits – especially the edible art exhibit by By grace, whose picture perfect Instagram inspires both hunger and awe. This special exhibition, we’re told, will be a sugar confection like we’ve never seen before.

Don’t miss out on the Creative Tech exhibitions or FX CAT’s Special Effects Makeup workshop either! From Stellar Design’s Make It Happen workshop to Johor Green’s Green Market, there’s plenty to do – and plenty of food to eat with tons set to be available at the bazaar at the festival throughout the day, and you can look forward to having fun while discovering new skills.

Lazada Malaysia

Once you’re done with the workshops and exhibitions and your food’s firmly settled in your tummy, head down to the performance area to catch some of the very best of Malaysia’s indie scene, including Pitahati, Masdo, Skudap Skudip, and plenty more! Other than rockers Johnny Come Lately, this year’s festival boasts an all-new lineup, with the crown jewel undoubtedly being the return of legendary indie rockers The Times.

Lazada Indonesia

Music fans will have plenty to look forward to with 18 performances spread out over the two days of the festival, with dance troops and percussion groups taking the stage alongside indie’s powerhouse names.

IP Kreatif looks like the creative arts festival Malaysia has been looking for, and there’s plenty more to look forward to, with IP Naratif set to bring another creative revolution later this year before culminating in the mother of them all – the Iskarnival.
