Good Vibes Festival has a good record of bringing everyone’s favorite artistes to Malaysian soil – starting with bringing Smashing Pumpkins down for their inaugural stint a few years back. This year, 2016, music junkies will see their wishes more than fulfilled as Future Sound Asia brings The 1975, The Temper Trap, Angus & Julia Stone, and many more to Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands. Even Two Door Cinema Club, who had to cancel their Urbanscapes last time, will be making it here at last with what’s bound to be an amazing set.

The final five Malaysian acts you need to know at the festival are here. Stick around for our local acts because these people are worth standing in the mud for. Have fun at Good Vibes and #SupportLocal!

Axel Groove

Axel Groove

If you’re a regular at Zouk, Nagaba, The Roof and Pisco, you’d have heard about Axel Groove. This silent giant has played alongside Jamie Jones, Vibe Lime, Shiba San and has even worked with the likes of Mos Def. Deftly mixing House, Deep Tech and Disco, Axel Groove is one of the DJs to look for at Good Vibes Festival. Having to performed at Future Music Festival Asia and Red Bull Music Academy, a stage as big as the one at The Ranch will surely not bring him jitters of any kind.

Catch the Panther tomorrow as he might just pull a surprise with another giant!

Twinkies

twinkies_1371808168_97

Twinkies is KL’s favorite female duo, as Arabyrd and DJ Nadia share the same deck to deliver a combo that’s as signature as their distinctive look. The duo has been mixing since 2010, and with their inclusion into the Good Vibes Festival lineup, they don’t look like they’re slowing down anytime soon. With Marquee Sydney and KL F1 Grand Prix sitting like Crown Jewels in their portfolio, no wonder they’re getting a slot in the same festival as Disclosure and Ryan Hemsworth.

Watch them spin decks and heads at Good Vibes Festival!

Jumero

Jumero

The Puchong-based trio, who just recently won the “Thank You For Existing“ award from VIMA Awards 2016,  are scene veterans and masters in their own craft. No strangers to big stages, Jumero has performed at Urbanscapes twice, the Guiness Amplify concert with Howie Day and Magic!, as well as numerous small festivals across the country. If you hang out at Laundry long enough, you’d probably see the khaki shorts-wearing trio hanging around and eventually playing a song or two for you on the stage.

Catch Jumero sing the blues at Good Vibes Festival tomorrow!

My pick:

Mutesite

Mutesite

Mutesite’s rise to stardom is one amazing ride to watch. From playing small shows to being one of the featured acts for the Wknd Sessions LIVE, the good people at Mutesite have enjoyed a well deserved ascent to the upper echelons of the indie scene. Mutesite delivers a cinematic experience through their instrumental work as the band describe themselves as “a collective of outcasted(sic) musicians telling their stories in an instrumental experience.“

Watch Anthony and friends tear the stage up with majestic sounds this Saturday!

My pick:

Indiego & Co

Indiego & Co is not just an indie entity, it’s an experience. Popular for being the ultimate patrons of indie, nu disco, and rock n roll in KL’s wilderness of nightlife, Indiego & Co danced their way to Good Vibes Festival with overwhelming response from fans and friends during their past outings. They’re also the organizers of the recent Thiscover Weekend featuring Kyoto Protocol, Youth Portal and more.

Go Indie, Go Indiego & Co this weekend at GoodVibes Festival!
