Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is expanding and the heroes from the TV universe are not left behind. Since the debut of the ABC Studios’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (AoS) in 2013 and the emergence of Netflix’s Daredevil in 2015, Marvel TV universe is also expanding and moving in alignment with MCU. The Avengers: Infinity War will have all the characters in the MCU from Iron Man to Black Panther, making it the biggest crossover event in a movie ever but will we see heroes from TV universe in MCU after this event?
These are the three Marvel heroes that are most likely to appear on the big screen after the Infinity War event:
- Agents of SHIELD
There’s no doubt that Agents of SHIELD is the only TV series that has the strongest link to the MCU. The main character of the series which is Phil Coulson is well known in the MCU as Nick Fury’s right-hand man until he was killed by Loki, only to be resurrected after that. With Infinity War event coming soon, there might be a chance we will see Coulson again with/without his team on the big screen. In season 5 we got to see the agents getting stranded in space and guess who is famous in space? That’s right Thanos, a mad titan who wants to conquer and destroy half of the galaxy. So that strengthens the reason more to see AoS in MCU.
Likeliest characters to appear: Phil Coulson, Quake
Originally supposed to be a movie in the MCU now a series, Inhumans has ties with the Kree race. Kree was responsible for releasing the Terrigen crystals on humans when they visited Earth millions of years ago. Now, we know that Ronan the Accuser (now deceased) who was also a Kree, worked for Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy. That is only thing that connects Inhumans to the MCU. However, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige said that a real Inhumans movie could still happen, probably in Phase Four which will start in summer 2019, alongside with the sequel to the Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Likeliest character to appear: Black Bolt
- The Defenders
Based in New York, this street version of Avengers will probably have their debut appearance in MCU. The Netflix universe as a whole was heavily affected by the Chitauri invasion and ‘The Incident’ is heavily mentioned throughout the all the series. In the Infinity War trailer, there’s a scene where an alien ship was hovering in New York sky, there is a big chance where The Defenders might already be there, evacuating civilians and what not. Recently, the only reference to the latest event in MCU which is Civil War can be heard in Jessica Jones season 2, where Jessica mentioned about The Raft (a prison for powered people in the middle of the sea) a few times as she considering to send her mom there. Another reference of MCU that can be seen in Marvel Netflix universe is in Luke Cage, where his half-brother, Diamondback used a powered suit to fight him. The suit was designed by Hammer Industries which is owned by Justin Hammer, a former Stark’s competitor in the weapon-selling business. Hammer also made an appearance in Iron Man 2.
