15 women remain in the running to be crowned Mrs. Malaysia Asia International 2017 after a stringent 2-stage audition process. The pageant is in its 7th year, looking to find the next “Mrs.” to represent Malaysia on the world stage. The next Mrs. Asia International 2017 Beauty Pageant is being held in Shanghai, China and screened on the renowned China Dragon TV. To prepare for this role, the finalists have been busy brushing up on much needed skills for the final event.

Amber Chia serves as their mentor, teaching them exactly what it takes to get to the world stage. “Pageantry is not only a competition about beauty, but it is also both a process, and a journey that forces you to grow and get out of your comfort zone. Although it may look like it, it is definitely not easy to get up on a catwalk, speak, and perform in front of people – let alone be judged for it. These ladies have come a long way from where they were just a few months ago, and we are looking forward to seeing them at the finals in June.” said Amber Chia at one of the weekly catwalk training sessions held at the Amber Chia Academy.

Grace, elegance, and poise are key to getting that coveted title but one that people need to have is confidence. With the help of International Confidence Coach, Nina Ray, the finalists have had to prepare mentally, and emotionally in order to prepare for the impending pressure and demands that come with being a pageant title holder as well as a national representative. “There have been ups and downs throughout this process. We have cried, we have laughed; but most of all, we have grown together as women, and the ladies now have gained a new depth of wisdom, experience, and confidence that can only come from pageantry.” said Nina Ray.

Of course, it hasn’t been all training and workshops – the finalists have been enjoying the more glamorous aspects of pageantry – photoshoots and enjoying the perks of sponsorships. The upcoming events for the finalists are the charity initiatives which are set to take place at the end of April. Characteristically, Mrs. Malaysia Asia International is an empowered woman who lives not only to support her family and herself, but is also always there to lend a hand in order to uplift her community.
