Kyoto Protocol’s Delta Wing, their latest single, sounds like the first time you discover the gates to indie rock music that keep you coming back for more. It is simple, straightforward yet gripping and addictive song — almost like the epitome of nostalgia.
The touch of synths and riffs in the beginning reassures one that they are up for a great ride, also makes it a classic reminiscent of early releases by the likes of The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian.
The music video incorporates none other than the classic Kyoto Protocol-style, with snippets of the band playing and abstract art with random shots of the sky.
Playing Good Vibes Festival again this year, it’s exciting to see them kick off the road to Malaysia’s biggest indie music festival like this. While still maintaining the true Kyoto Protocol sound, they managed to evolve in their own way. ‘Delta Wing’, taken from their upcoming album The Pen Is Mightier, is a curtain raiser for this new brand of Kyoto Protocol; and we are stoked for more.
