ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the Strix RX Vega64 today, a VR-ready gaming graphics card with ultrafast gaming performance, advanced cooling and reliability, with personalized styling.
Packed with exclusive ROG technologies, the GPU includes MaxContact, an industry-first GPU cooling technology featuring an enhanced copper heat-spreader that provides a 10X-flatter surface for up to 2X more contact area with the GPU than traditional heat spreaders, resulting in improved thermal transfer. Together with three patented wing-blade 0dB fans, Strix RX Vega64 delivers 30%-cooler and 3X-quieter performance than reference cards. ASUS FanConnect II provides hybrid-controlled fan headers and a comprehensive set of tuning options with GPU Tweak II to optimize system cooling even further. Industry-exclusive Auto-Extreme technology with Super Alloy Power II components ensures premium quality and reliability.
Strix RX Vega64 comes with exclusive ASUS Aura Sync, RGB LED synchronization technology that enables complete gaming system personalization. A VR-friendly design with two HDMI ports lets gamers keep a VR headset connected to their system for immersive, virtual-reality gaming without swapping cables. GPU Tweak II software with XSplit Gamecaster provides intuitive performance tweaking and instant gameplay streaming.
Other than that, the latest generation of high-end desktops debuts today with AMD’s new X399 platform and accompanying Ryzen™ Threadripper™ processors featuring up to 16 cores, 32 threads of desktop pounding performance. These SocketTR4 processors require new motherboards, and ASUS is ready with a trio of innovative products. Built for power users, gaming enthusiasts and prosumers, the new lineup of Republic of Gamers (ROG) and ASUS X399 motherboards represent the culmination of decades of experience refining all aspects of motherboard technology.
All of the X399 boards share core DNA that includes one-touch intelligent overclocking, refined cooling control, advanced connectivity and improved RGB lighting. The ROG Zenith Extreme brings Threadripper into the world of premium dream PCs with provisions for custom liquid cooling and 10Gbps networking. With the ROG Strix X399-E Gaming, hardcore gamers can build stylish rigs with power to spare for high-quality streaming. With the Prime X399-A the platform provides a well-rounded foundation channeling the professional side of its prodigious power.
Highlights of the motherboard include optimised cooling from airflow as well as heat sinks positioned to direct as much heat away from other vital components. The bandwidth is compensated by ultra-fast connectivity. External devices include USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports in Type-A and Type-C. The ROG Zenith Extreme adds more to that. Gigabit networks use reliable Intel controllers, as well as a wired 10Gbps (10G) Ethernet card, and a 802.11ad Wi-Fi module.
Audio hasn’t been left out too. This generation receives a Realtek® S1220 series codec paired with an amplifier and premium components that produce immersive and crystal clear sound. In addition, the ROG Zenith Extreme adds an ESS® Sabre 9018Q2C DAC and offers audio quality that rivals some dedicated sound cards. Both the ROG boards feature an exclusive Sonic Studio III and Sonic Radar III software suites along with support for Sonic Studio Link that allows virtual surround sound and other effects in conjunction with the HTC Vive™ or Oculus Rift™ VR headsets.
ASUS RX Vega64 Water Cooled Edition (RXVEGA64-O8G-LIQUID), ASUS RX Vega64 Air Cooled Edition (RXVEGA64-8G), ROG Zenith Extreme will be available in Malaysia starting mid-August, with prices to be announced soon. Availability of the ASUS Prime X399-A and the ROG Strix X399-E Gaming motherboard to be announced in the near future.
