A Collection Made Up Of 4 Pieces Of Apparel
Everyone knows the saying “never stop dreaming,” and the bitter reality is that it stays just as that, but not for Pestle And Mortar. A lifelong dream came true, as famed LA streetwear brand collaborated with them on a small capsule collection that was launched at Sneakerlah on Saturday, 7th of October.
Hugh Koh, Creative Director of Pestle & Mortar Clothing had this to say, “The 3 of us (PMC founders) grew up following The Hundreds blog. I got my first The Hundreds hat from Arnold way back in ‘08 and since then we have looked to the brand for inspiration in the way we do business. Even though we’re miles apart, we’ve always felt a personal connection with the different views and content that gets published on The Hundred’s blog.
The collection comprises of two t-shirt designs, a coaches jacket, and a dad hat. 2 of the items have already sold out on the first day of Sneakerlah.
All of the clothing items have the same design translated across each apparel, however, they feature a singular motif: a Hibiscus, our national flower. PMC has always tried to incorporate as much SouthEast Asian/local fusion to their designs as a homage to where we come from, also to put Malaysia on the map. It’s still an issue apparently, ask any foreigner where Malaysia is, and the closest they’ll get to is the land between Thailand and Singapore.
“This has truly been a dream come true for us – and it helps to encourage our fellow Southeast Asians in the industry that it isn’t impossible to grow beyond our physical (and sometimes mental) borders and boundaries” added Koh.
Cheers to a massive milestone achieved by our homeboys!
The collaboration pieces are available for purchase at Pestle & Mortar Clothing Bangsar Flagship, Major Drop and The Hundreds web-store.
