BOOST has been around for sometime. We see it everywhere in from NMDs and Yeezys to Ultraboosts and its less popular counterpart, the Pureboost, to the Ultraboost midsole getting transplanted to football shoes for the streets in the instance of the Ace 16 Predator Ultraboost and the Nemeziz Tango Ultraboost to name a few, but all can trace its roots back to the original Adidas Energy Boost.
The 5th Anniversary Ultraboost pays homage to the progenitor of the technology, adorned in the first colourway of the Energy Boost: Black, with grey accents on the cage with yellow detailing on the aglets (If you don’t know what aglets are, where were you when Phineas And Ferb was showing?).
It’s simple and understated, yet it’s also a distinctive landmark in the history of Adidas’ most responsive cushioning platform ever, one that catapulted two models into mainstream hype, and has been a mainstay as well as a variant in almost all other models in Adidas’ line of shoes. Pay homage to the originator of it all, in the colours at least.
A drop is expected to happen 1st of February, but we’ll keep you posted as more news comes in. What’s say you readers? Cop a piece of Adidas history? Or drop?
