Happy Reacts Only

Nike’s successful effort to one up BOOST cushioning in the form of the Epic React has finally landed in JD stores nationwide in 3 debut colours: white, blue, and black. Black drains out the sporty elements of the shoe, effectively turning it into a lifestyle runner, making it easily matchable with the rest of your wardrobe.

For those who don’t know, the React foam is Nike’s answer to the BOOST, a bouncier type of foam that captures and releases energy 16% more efficiently than the Lunarlon base. Nike has been trialling the foam in a few other shoes in the form of the React Hyperdunk and React Flyknit, but is turned up to 11 with the new silhouette.

Highlights include a 3D formed midsole to increase focal points on the flex and strengthens its weak points during lift off. The foam too resists compression, hindering the foam from flattening after running in prolonged periods of time. 2 rubber pieces make out the outsole on the frontal area and the back portion to reduce wear during lift off and landing. We’ve heard early adopters give high praise for the shoe, many of them saying it’s more comfortable, and bouncier than the BOOST, some even going as far to say that the React gets closer to the feeling of walking on clouds than the BOOST.

The Epic React Flyknit is available for purchase at JD’s brick and mortar stores or online for a non-resell price of RM589. If you’re looking for a new pair to add to your rotation, look no further.
