Urbanscapes transformed The Row into their own playground last Sunday on the 21st of May. Following in line with this year’s theme, ‘Rediscover KL,’ the venue hosted numerous activities for visitors to indulge themselves in the art, culture, and talents of Kuala Lumpur.
At Timbre, the public were welcomed with an immersive audiovisual collaboration experience featuring famed local acts from the likes of An Honest Mistake, Rozella, and RyotJones as well as iconic visual artists Kenji Chai and Cloakwork.
The Deck also played host to the Hanafuda Project, DJ Reeve and DJ Biggie to bring fans an EDM experience on the rooftop with a breathtaking view of the skyline, accompanied by ice-cold Tiger Beer and scrumptious foods on offer there.
Even the whole back alley of The Row was transformed with art installations, a beer garden, and pop up food stores!
However, the highlight of the event happened at Slate, home to two renowned international bands for the night, Hyukoh and Crystal Castles. Oh Hyuk powered through his performance with an energetic setlist, wooing the crowd with pieces of indie and jazz, tinged with influences from the Wild West. Synth-punk then took over as Crystal Castles commanded the stage, emanating neo-future vibes from their set. Entry was limited to fans who managed to win some exclusive passes through various contests ran by Tiger Beer and Urbanscapes. Some lucky fans even managed to win passes at other shows along The Row when they purchased a bottle of Tiger Beer.
“It is #UncageMusic’s mission to bring two different worlds of music and art together, creating a whole new perspective on creativity. It is fascinating to see fans enjoy this one-of- a-kind experience that was exclusively brought to them by Tiger Beer. We hope to continue our partnership with Urbanscapes and work together again to bring more exciting experience for our discerning drinkers,” said Jessie Chuah, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer.
