After months of speculation, telecommunications giant TM officially launched their digital mobility arm, webe. First leaked to the public when screenshots of a mobile plan bearing webe’s marketing went viral on social media, webe has since announced its community-based projects ahead of its official launch in order to build a brand and engage with Malaysians.

While not much new information was on offer for those curious about webe’s plans to expand into the mobile service market, it was revealed by TM CEO Azizi A. Hadi that webe is targeting a Q4 public launch for its mobile plans.

Existing TM customers can register for a chance to opt into the current webe plan on offer, a ‘all you can eat” postpaid plan with unlimited calls, SMS, and most importantly data. While it’s billed at RM119, the plan costs a decent RM79 after rebate with supplementary lines are available at RM49 a month. There are also no contracts involved, which webe believes will enhance the end user experience.
