Fans of AC/DC have been split ever since the band announced Guns n’ Roses frontman Axl Rose as replacement for the outgoing Brian Johnson, – who has been warned by doctors to stop performing immediately or face total hearing loss.

While some fans adopted a “wait and see” posture towards Axl Rose’s appointment as the new frontman, a more vocal portion of the fans have expressed their dissatisfaction at the decision, – with many biased against Axl for his antics and diva-esque attitude in the 90’s and 00’s, – and aggressively demanded refunds for tickets purchased. A few days ago, some venues across Europe finally agreed to refunds for fans unwilling to witness Axl Rose perform with their beloved AC/DC.

However, this doesn’t answer the burning question “Can Axl Rose pull off Bon Scott & Brian Johnson’s vocals?

In a surprising turn of events, AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young joined Guns n’ Roses onstage during their set at Coachella on April 16th, playing two songs from AC/DC’s catalog: “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “Riff Raff”. Does Axl possess the pipes required to convincingly pull off some classic AC/DC-styled singing? You decide:

 

Bonus point: Axl gives Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl a shoutout for lending him his “throne” for the performance – further cementing his place as one of the nicest guys in rock. Both frontmen suffered leg injuries that prevented them from standing during shows.
