The Nestle Professional Culinary Arts Awards is back with their 10th Culinary Competition (CAA) , crowning the winner of CAA 2018 today. In effort to encourage the passion of young talents in the industry, Nestle Professional is in partnership with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) which hosted the intensive 3 day competition held from the 25th to 27th of January 2018. 10 talented students from the top culinary institutions in Malaysia competed to be the victor for the prize of a 6-month internship with Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur alongside a cash prize of RM3,000 and a chance to represent Malaysia in the upcoming ASEAN Skills Competition and Worlds Skills Competition.
The awards ceremony; aimed to encourage students to develop their passion for the arts, also had a performance from the Taylor’s Symphony Orchestra where 5 members of the team performed complex orchestral pieces for the attendees.

Grand Prize Winner:
Ng Sheng Pei (Edward), representing Taylor’s University
1st Runner Up:
Idris Muaz Bin Mazlan, representing UiTM Pematang Pauh
2nd Runner Up:
Shaun Wong Wen Jin, representing UCSI University
The winning dish was titled ‘Garden’ by Eng, a decadent dessert made of chocolate mousse, salted caramel and pistachio ‘sand’.
